Introducing our newest candle: pure yellow beeswax in a recycled French pot. Pure beeswax – with a dollop of coconut oil – yields a long, clean burn. It gives off a beautiful scent, unadulterated by fragrance oils. We hand-pour each one into a recycled glass French pot. A bamboo lid keeps it dust-free when not in use.
This candle, our “everyday candle,” pays homage to the Benebikira Sisters, who are part of a Jesuit Order in Rwanda. They are our ground partners in the bakery projects and workrooms which we help build there. The Benebikiras tend to their precious bee colonies, harvesting the honey and pure beeswax to support their local community.
Purchasing one of these candles is a good gift for the receiver, but the goodness goes beyond the gifting to support our work in Rwanda. The profits from the sale of these beautiful candles go to building bakeries and work centers which provide locals with food and opportunities for employment. That’s gifting goodness!
